I'm sharing a playlist that includes some of the songs that inspire me to stand in my power every day. The following list of songs is curated by me and represents some of my favorite artists and tracks.
I’ve been discussing music’s role in our lives a lot lately. One of the major takeaways is that music can be an effective tool for feeling invigorated and positive. It’s a mood booster that can help us feel confident in a way that is quick, easy, and effortless. It’s not only about the music, but also about the feeling.
I present to you my first Me Power Playlist, a collection of songs that keep me inspired and motivated. I hope you enjoy this playlist as much as I do.
What songs light up your life? Please share in the comments or by replying to this email, as I am working on the next “Me Power Playlist.” I appreciate your recommendations in advance.
Me Power Book Updates
I think I’m closer to settling on a title WITH a subtitle. Last week, I mentioned being against having a subtitle. But my Marketing & Revisions editor (MRE) advised that I have one because it helps provide additional keywords and details for the reader. Here’s my best title:
Me Power: How to Get What You Want By Being Who You Are?
One of our wonderful 3-31 newsletter/blog readers asked me how the restructuring of the book compares to what I outlined in my Pre-Sale Campaign.
I've completely reworked my book to have two parts instead of three. Throughout the revision process, I realized that I wanted to write a book about empowerment that does not fit into the traditional mold of self-help books. It is more of a way of thinking about empowerment than it is a book full of practical advice. Although I understand that this may alienate readers who prefer books with lots of practical and prescriptive advice, I will have some of that in a section at the end of key chapters in Part II (“From Principles to Practice”), it's worth it to me to create such a text because we cannot skip over challenging what we assume we know about empowerment.
Today I recognize that there are enough readers who will get where I am trying to go. In our check-in earlier, I told my accountability partner, Jeanie Duncan: “I can see the tunnel, but I don’t see the light yet.”
It's taken me over two years to get to this point.
July 1st copyediting deadline here I come!

About the Author
Three ⚡️ in 31 Seconds
⚡️ A good friend and BlackLinkedIn is Thriving community member, Dr. Tammy Mccotter, creates inspirational videos every weekday morning before heading to work at her county’s Detention Facilities in Maryland. The vibrations of each song bring out the best in Dr. Tammy, heard as musical accompaniment in the background. I love watching her videos early in the morning. It's what I do when I want to get energized for the day. I take a deep breath, let it out, feel the music and her message flow through me, and revel in how alive I feel. In yesterday’s video, Dr. Tammy rejoiced:
“I want you to have a beautiful day
I want you to fill it in your soul
To have a beautiful day
In the hustle and bustle of the week
In the deadlines and setting goals and trying to accomplish them
So I’m sending that peace to you today
You will have an amazing day, on purpose, you beautiful people.”
⚡️ “What if the word ‘work’ was changed to ‘dance-with-life’? And instead of it being viewed as an alternative to fishing or a way of ‘paying your dues,’ it was seen as a chance to meet a parade of new friends, discover your own untested potentials and unpolished gifts, and open avenues for abundance to come pouring into your life? Yeah, I bet lottery sales would plummet. Start the parade, The Universe”
⚡️ Me Power is a new definition that provides a flexible framework for self-development that is not attached to any one specific theory or prescriptive practice.
I recently made this list for work. Our entire operation hit a wall we couldn't avoid, and these were some songs to get us through it (the title refers to the lone runway that stayed open). I'll add some more songs that I specifically use as well as they come to me.
